Manufacturing

In the heart of Portugal, near Porto, our garments are lovingly handcrafted. Each product tells a story – a story of dedication, passion, and a deep commitment to exceptional quality.

Sustainably crafted in Portugal

At Dreifeder, we deliberately chose Portugal as our production location. Portugal is known for its high standards in the textile industry, which allows us to create high-quality and sustainable products.

Compared to production sites in Asia, Portugal offers numerous ecological and social advantages. Shorter transport routes mean lower CO₂ emissions, and stricter environmental regulations help ensure that our production processes are more environmentally friendly.

Why Local Production Matters

Producing in Portugal not only allows us to reduce CO₂ emissions thanks to shorter transport routes, but also enables closer collaboration with our suppliers. This results in better control over the quality and sustainability of our products.

In addition, local communities benefit from fair working conditions and fair wages – something that unfortunately cannot be guaranteed in many production sites across Asia.

Follow the process from raw denim to finished pair:

#1 - Denim fabric

Our jeans begin their journey with the selection of the perfect fabric. We use high-quality denim that is both durable and comfortable.

Our denim is sourced from certified suppliers who use sustainable and environmentally friendly production methods. This allows us to guarantee not only exceptional quality, but also a responsible and conscious manufacturing process.

#2 - Cutting

Cutting is the first step in shaping our jeans. Using precise techniques and careful craftsmanship, the fabric is cut into the individual pieces needed for assembly.

This process ensures a perfect fit and forms the foundation for the jeans’ comfort and durability. We focus on efficiency and minimizing fabric waste to conserve valuable resources.

#3 - Assembly

In the assembly stage, the individual fabric pieces are brought together. Here, state-of-the-art machinery meets traditional craftsmanship to ensure every seam is perfectly placed.

Our experienced seamstresses and tailors pay close attention to every detail – from the sturdy waistband to the reinforced pockets. This step is essential to the quality and design that define Dreifeder jeans.

#4 - Washing

The washing process gives each pair of jeans its unique character and helps prevent shrinkage after purchase.

We use a variety of washing techniques to achieve different finishes – from classic indigo tones to a modern worn-in look. Throughout the process, we prioritise environmentally friendly methods that minimise water usage and reduce chemical impact.

#5 - Finish

The final touch is what makes every pair of Dreifeder jeans truly unique. During the finishing stage, final details like buttons, labels, and hangtags are added, loose threads are trimmed, and the waistband is printed with the Dreifeder signature.

Each pair is carefully pressed, quality-checked, and packed by hand – just as you receive it.

Social Responsibility & Fair Conditions

Fair working conditions and social responsibility are incredibly important to us.

The employees at our partner factories in Portugal work in safe, fair environments and receive fair wages. We regularly visit the production sites ourselves, speak directly with the workers, and ensure their well-being is truly supported.
